FactCheck Mailbag, Week of Feb. 8-14

This week, a reader sent us a comment about the Crossroads GPS ad claiming that Democrats cut Medicare benefits.

In the FactCheck Mailbag, we feature some of the e-mail we receive. Readers can send comments to editor@factcheck.org. Letters may be edited for length.

Any Benefit Cut Is a Cut

You say ["DCCC, Crossroads Usher In 2012 Campaign," Feb. 8], "The new health care law slows the future growth of Medicare, but does not cut benefits — except for private Medicare Advantage plans, held by one out of four seniors." So, regardless of the fact that not everyone’s benefits were cut — if any were cut, IT"S A CUT IN CURRENT BENEFITS!!

Come on, if you are going to split hairs, you are as bad as they are!
