We will be live tweeting during the first presidential debate in Colorado tonight. You can follow us at twitter.com/factcheckdotorg.
Our plan is to tweet about any false or misleading statements that we hear and have already researched and reported. The tweets will often include a link to a previous story for more information.
We will not, however, immediately respond to new claims until we have fully researched them. We will post an article on our website sometime in the early morning hours after the debate — and, yes, we will tweet about that, too.
In advance of the debate, you may want to visit our sister site, FlackCheck.org, which has video clips debunking false and misleading claims that may come up in tonight’s debate. The site also includes previews from the nation’s top fact-checkers, including our own Brooks Jackson, on what to expect in the debates.
